Meet Louis “Gino” Hodges
Congratulations to Gino who was recently promoted to Director of Busines Development. Gino has 22 years at PLEXSYS, and also served 22 years in the United States Air Force. He began his career at a Forward Air Control Post (FACP) in Central Europe as a Weapons Director Technician and HF Radio Operator. Gino joined the Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) community in 1980 and served in the Surveillance, Electronic Combat, and Weapons crew positions accumulating over 10,000 flight hours. He also had the opportunity to track satellites and space debris in Space Command while stationed in Thule, Greenland.
Gino retired from the Air Force in 1998 and did short stints as a debt collector, funeral director assistant, and used car salesman. He came to PLEXSYS in April 2000 because he missed working with the military and wanted to use his skills to support the warfighter.
Gino’s first job with PLEXSYS was as the Sr. AWACS MTC Site manager. He directed the three Mission Training Centers (MTCs) at Tinker AFB, OK, and filled in as Site Manager at Kadena AB, Japan, and Elmendorf AFB, AK, as needed. At the same time, he served as the DMO Standards Support Engineer and the DMO Test Planning Workgroup representative doing triple duty for the first three years. Gino eventually left the Site Manager position and focused exclusively on DMO Standards and ad hoc business development. He moved entirely into Business Development in 2013 and has been delivering contracts for JSTARS Advanced Simulation Combat Operations Trainer (ASCOT), Enhanced Mission Record and Review System (EMRRS) support, and the UK AWACS programs. He has also formed strategic partnerships with companies like ImmersaView, ZedaSoft, and HAVIK, ever since.
By undertaking all the different roles in his early years at PLEXSYS, he traveled and met a multitude of people from various companies and got exposure to other technologies that complement PLEXSYS products. This networking helped him develop a Video Teleconference system for the AWACS program, create the concepts for EMMRS, E-Inmate, and OnScene Commander products.
