PLEXSYS Announces CEO Retirement and Strategic Leadership Transition as Company Enters Next Phase of All Domain Training and Global Expansion

May 12, 2025 | By: Sara Hatfield

Camas, WA (May 12, 2025) – PLEXSYS Interface Products, Inc. (PLEXSYS), a global leader in modeling and simulation technologies, announces the retirement of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ron Wiegand and the official welcome of its new CEO, Mark Graper, effective May 12, 2025.

Ron “Opie” Wiegand, a retired United States Air Force Commander with 27 years of honorable service, will conclude his civilian service after ten years of outstanding leadership at PLEXSYS. In his extensive portfolio as PLEXSYS President and CEO, he guided the company through transformative growth, expanded global presence, and strengthened its commitment to enabling Joint/Coalition Warfighters.

After internally announcing Wiegand’s retirement, the PLEXSYS Board of Directors appointed Mark Graper as the company’s next President and CEO. This seamless leadership transition supports the company’s long-term growth strategy, innovation, and continued excellence in All Domain, All Phase Training™. Operating from its U.S. headquarters in Camas, Washington, and through its international subsidiaries – PLEXSYS Australia Pty Ltd and PLEXSYS Interface Products UK Ltd – the company leans into the fast-paced demands of the global defense and commercial technology sectors. PLEXSYS’ unwavering commitment is to provide scalable, interoperable solutions supporting joint and coalition readiness, decision superiority, and real-time mission rehearsal.

“It has been the privilege of a lifetime to work alongside the phenomenal PLEXSYS team and build trusted partnerships with so many government and industry leaders,” said Ron Wiegand. “PLEXSYS has evolved from providing simulation training support to a single weapons system in the air domain to supporting Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) readiness across all Services and many Coalition partners with Space-enabled Multi-Domain Operations (MDO). Our solutions integrate with the best advanced, emerging technologies that government/industry partners can bring. I leave PLEXSYS knowing the company is in the strong hands of a universally respected proven leader. PLEXSYS‘  future is full of promise and impact.”

The "Change of Watch" by PLEXSYS depicts the 1960s Lockheed EC-121 Warning Star, the Boeing E-3 Sentry introduced in the late 1970s and still used today, followed by the newest aircraft, first flown in 2004, the E-7 Wedgetail.

With forward-thinking leadership, PLEXSYS will continue advancing high-impact solutions that align with the evolving landscape of defense readiness and all domain operations.

“I am honored and excited to be joining PLEXSYS. I look forward to leading the Team into its next chapter,” said Mark Graper, a retired Air Force Major General with 30+ years of experience in strategic planning, joint and combined operations, and operational-level command and control. He arrives with 11 years of corporate experience leading training and engineering teams in 15 countries globally. “PLEXSYS built its stellar reputation by anticipating and listening to customer needs and responding with agile, powerful technologies. Our focus will remain on providing innovative and effective capabilities to train, operate, and achieve success across all domains and mission phases for the defense and commercial training industries.”

Looking ahead, PLEXSYS will continue investing in future-ready solutions, strategic partnerships, and a customer-first culture that strengthens Warfighter and customer readiness across all domains – air, land, sea, space, and cyber – through every phase of the mission.
