CAMAS, WA (June 4, 2019) – PLEXSYS is pleased to announce the contract award for Phase II of the Air National Guard’s (ANG) Battlespace Access Training System (BATS). Phase I of the BATS Program culminated in March 2019 with the construction of Relocatable Simulation Shelter (RSS) facilities at the Western, Eastern, and Pacific Air Defense Sectors. This facility is separate from the main operations building and includes self-contained provisions to support 28 operator workstations for Air Defense mission simulation training.
Phase II of this program concludes with the installation of full operations floor integrated within the stand-alone RSS structure at the Phase I locations and the delivery and installation of a BATS for the fourth Air Defense sector in Alaska.
The BATS will be the primary training device for Air National Guard Air Defense units and serve as a sector-level training center for Battle Control Center operators. BATS provides initial, mission, and continuation training for all four sectors and will be a venue for training, mission rehearsal, and establishment of tactics, techniques, and procedures and intra-organizational coordination among the Air Defense community.
